Career Happiness: what we mean
Once you chose a course, or even earlier: once you chose a curriculum. That was probably at an age where other things more important than now. Maybe you were influenced by an older brother or sister, by your parents, an uncle or grandfather. They all wanted the best for you and advised you from their point of view of you and the labor market. How long ago is that? And how did it go on after that?
You’ve started with your education, a first job which did or didn’t match to that education, first work experience, promotions or demotions, changes of job, accidental or planned. Other employers, and other requirements. In love, engaged, married? Again different demands on your work, especially when the children were born.
With Career Happiness, we mean a job that fits as much as possible with your personal development. And that it remains fit. With your lifestyle, talents, your drive.
Sometimes a recalibration is needed. Go back to the basics:
- Who am I, what does give me energy, and what doesn’t?
- What kind of talents do I have?
- Which values are the most important for me?
